Opening of a historic Bosch shop at Meilenwerk in Düsseldorf

In the Fall of 2006 Bosch Automotive Tradition opened a shop in the attractive halls of the Meilenwerk classic car forum in Düsseldorf. The Meilenwerk center provides a one-stop-shop for everyone fascinated by classic cars, housing workshops, dealers, and much more, all under one roof.

Bosch Automotive Tradition is utilizing this opportunity to get closer to its customers and, in conjunction with Bosch Classic specialist Küppers, has launched a historic Bosch shop with an attached classic car workshop. Visitors can not only have their classic cars professionally serviced, they can now also experience an old-time Bosch shop, with unique articles and promotional items transporting them back to the Bosch world of the 1950s.

To make the historic Bosch shop as authentic as possible, detailed research was carried out into just exactly how a Bosch shop of the time looked. A lot of material was gathered in collaboration with the historians working at the Bosch Archive in Feuerbach. This enabled the shopfittings to be faithfully planned and recreated and also resulted in promotional items and information resources from the time being reproduced. The Bosch shop displays a representative assortment of original automotive components from the 1950s, ranging from the magneto, through injection pumps and wiper motors, to the spark plug. Many a classic car fan's heart is sure to miss a beat on entering the shop.

The classic car workshop is run by Bosch Classic specialist Hans Küppers. With his wealth of experience, he provides a highly qualified service to vintage and classic car drivers alike, including specially tailored vintage and classic car servicing, performance testing, wheel alignment, statutory emissions tests, accident repairs, and much more.

The facility is more than a workshop and shop in the conventional sense. It embodies the enduring values of the Bosch tradition. It brings back memories to many enthusiasts, and arouses interest in the history of Bosch. It is a meeting place for all the family, for classic car fans and Bosch customers, and ultimately for anyone interested in it.
